Thirty-seven Maryville College juniors and seniors have been selected for inclusion in the annual directory of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2003.
Nominations for Who’s Who were gathered by Maryville College seniors and faculty and were based on the student’s academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being nominated, these students join an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations.
“ Maryville College is proud to participate every year in the Who’s Who Among Students in America program,” said Vice President and Dean of Students Dr. Bill Seymour. “It is an excellent way for deserving campus leader-scholars to be recognized for their achievements as well as their contributions to the Maryville College community.
“ This year, there were 146 eligible seniors based on their academic achievement,” Seymour continued. “One of the things that is unique about the Who’s Who process is that all seniors along with faculty and staff help select the recipients. Based on their ballots, an excellent slate of 37 students were selected for recognition. Each and every one in their own unique way exemplifies the excellence in education that is a hallmark of Maryville College.”
