Van Metre School of Dance: Recitals

11:00AM –  Alice and Friends
Take a tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice into a world of whimsey and wonder.  Alice and her friends dance together including bunnies, flowers, teacups, flamingoes, cards and butterflies. (This performance features our youngest ballet dancers)

1:00PM – Rhythm and Legends
Get ready for an electrifying celebration of music and dance!  This high-energy performance brings the stage to life with choreography set to some of the music industry’s biggest icons featuring favorites chosen by VMSD faculty and students.  From jazz and contemporary to tap, hip hop and musical theatre, each piece highlights the artistry, personality and passion of our dancers while paying tribute to the artists who have shaped the soundtrack of our lives.  Join us for an exciting, crowd-pleasing show you won’t want to miss!

4:00PM – Alice in Wonderland
Take a tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice into a world of whimsey and wonder.  Lewis Carroll’s classic 1865 story turned into a ballet follows young Alice through a realm of strange happenings in Wonderland.  Alice traverses a world where she attends a never-ending tea party and faces the formidable Queen of Hearts along with the White Rabbit, A Caterpillar, the mischievous Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and many exciting characters!
