Chemical Hygiene Officer and Natural Sciences Officer

Danielle Lincoln joined the staff of Maryville College as Chemical Hygiene/Natural Sciences Officer in 2017. She earned her B.A. in Chemistry from Rollins College in 2012 and her Ph.D. with a focus in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 2017, under the guidance of Dr. Michael J. Sepaniak. Her dissertation was on the use of micro- and nano-scale pillar array lithographic chips for thin-layer chromatography.

Dr. Lincoln currently teaches General Chemistry in addition to their duties as Chemical Hygiene Officer. In their position as CHO, they work jointly with the Division of Natural Sciences and Facilities Services to manage chemical hazards and waste, as well as assist with staff safety training. Additionally, in 2022 they facilitated the acquisition of the red-tailed hawk, Isaac, to reside on Maryville College campus under their Special Purpose – Education wildlife license.
