Senior Enrollment Counselor

Bio

I was born in the teeny tiny town of Lompoc, CA. After that, my family moved to Wyoming, then Colorado, Nebraska, Colorado again, Rhode Island, California again…you get the idea. My dad was in the Air Force, so traveling has always been an integral part of my life. Our final stop was Maryville, Tennessee, which led to me attending college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. During undergrad I tossed around the idea of becoming a high school English teacher, but ultimately, I decided to focus on studying the mind and all its quirks. Thus, I graduated from UTK in 2020 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Theatre. Soon after graduation I began working as an Education Specialist for the Upward Bound program, where we helped first generation students graduate high school and begin their college careers. Working with students and helping them achieve their goals is such a rewarding experience, and it’s something I’ll never grow tired of. I am so excited to continue the work here at Maryville College!

Why I Love MC

I’ve lived in and around Maryville for the past six years, so it’s very familiar, comfortable, and homey to me. I love the beautiful architecture of the buildings, and seeing the leaves change in the fall feels magical. This is such a welcoming community, and I enjoy knowing that Maryville College is just the same. Every time I walk around campus, I see a new person to say hi to, and another familiar face that I’ve met before right behind them. As students, building friendships and connections with your peers and professors is inevitable here, and it means you’ll have people in your corner everywhere on campus. Even though I’m still new to MC, I can already tell this place is something special, and I am thrilled for you to experience it as well!
