Homecoming 2010 | Alumni Award Winners

During a brunch held Oct. 22 in the Alumni Gymnasium, former student-athletes Ed Davalos ’81, Ken Dickens ’77, Eric Etchison ’88, Julius Nicely ’41 (inducted posthumously), Laura Sibold ’95 and Brett Stanley ’90 were inducted into the College’s Wall of Fame.

At the annual Alumni Reception & Awards Ceremony, G. Donald Hickman ’70 and Carl McDonald ’63 were awarded the prestigious Alumni Citation. John Trotter ’95 was presented the Kin Takahashi Award for Young Alumni. Dr. C. Charlton Mabry ’50, professor of pediatrics at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, was recognized with the College’s Distinguished Service Award.

Just before Homecoming festivities got underway, Dr. Ken Tuck ’54 was presented the Maryville College Medallion during the Founder’s Day Banquet held Oct. 21. Tuck, a private practitioner in comprehensive ophthalmology in Roanoke, Va., is a member of the College’s Board of Directors. Winners of the Medallion, Maryville College’s highest award, are chosen for their exemplary service to Maryville College, outstanding service to their community and church, and prominence and leadership in their chosen profession or career.
