Faculty music recital includes original works by Swann, Matascik

A free recital, featuring Maryville College professors and instructors, is scheduled for 8 p.m., Oct. 3, in the College’s Fine Arts Center Music Hall.

Dr. Robert Bonham, Mr. Ashley Burrell, Ms. Alicia Massie-Legg, Dr. Sheri Matascik, Mr. Harold Nagge, Mr. Burt Rosevear, Dr. Larry Smithee and Dr. Bill Swann will perform. Swann will perform an original work, “Elegy,” on piano. “Sense of Being,” an original electronic work by Matascik, is also on the program.

“Ching-A-Ring Chaw, ” arranged by Aaron Copland, will be performed by Rosevear, baritone, accompanied by Alina Rosevear on piano. “Windows of Comfort,” by Dan Locklair, will be performed by organist Burrell.

Ms. Stacey Wilner, coordinator of choral music at the College, will emcee the program. Following the recital, a reception will be held at Wilner’s Maryville home.
