Krystal Cooper, Ph.D. is the Assistant Director of Academic Coaching for the TRIO Student Support Services Program at Maryville College. Dr. Cooper obtained her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Tuskegee University and her Master of Arts from Troy University. Dr. Cooper also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Adult Education from Auburn University.

Prior to arriving at Maryville College, Dr. Cooper worked in First-Year Programs and Academic Success Center as an Academic Success Advocate and an Academic Coach at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  While at UT Dr. Cooper served on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and as the Chair of the Strengths Committee. Additionally, she worked at Amarillo College as a Career Navigator and Transition Instructor. Passionate about her work with students, she started an Outreach and Teach Tutoring Organization, which offered additional tutoring and mentoring from industry leaders in Amarillo, TX to students in the high school equivalency program and ESL students.
Dr. Cooper’s ultimate goals are to become an advocate for students’ academic success, foster healthy campus partnerships, and bring awareness to the importance of the TRIO Program.
