College Consensus, a college review aggregator, has recognized Maryville College in its “Best Colleges for Veterans” list for 2021.

Maryville College is No. 17 on the list of 100 higher education institutions that are top Consensus-ranked schools that also recognize the special needs of those who have served in the military.

College Consensus brings together published expertise – including rankings from the Wall Street Journal, U.S. News and World Report, WalletHub and Money – and verified student reviews from sites such as Niche, Cappex and Unigo to create a comprehensive, aggregate ranking of each school. The average of these sources forms the Consensus Rating, which make the College Consensus ranking.

The institutions on the Best Colleges for Veterans must meet several qualifications, including: be a Servicemember Opportunity Colleges member; have a recognized student veteran organization; be a Yellow Ribbon Program participant; employ a dedicated support contact for veterans, servicemembers and families; and offer credit for military training. All schools meeting this requirement are ranked according to their Consensus Rating.

“We are pleased to be recognized for our commitment to supporting our veteran students and helping guide them to succeed both academically and personally,” said Dave Daniels ’20, military recruiting and outreach specialist at Maryville College.

Recently, Maryville College earned the Bronze-level Military Friendly® School designation for 2021-22, due to the College’s commitment to and success in attracting and supporting military-related students. This recognition is the sixth in six years from Viqtory, which is considered a standard-setter for colleges providing positive employment and education outcomes for veterans and their families.

Maryville College also was listed in U.S. News & World Report’s “2021 Best Colleges,” ranking in several sub-categories of Southern colleges – including No. 1 in “Best Colleges for Veterans.”

Maryville College accepts military Tuition Assistance (TA), Post 9/11 GI Bill® benefitsTN Strong Act and other veteran educational benefits. Additionally, MC offers a unique level of support with its MC Helping Heroes Scholarship for those military members who have not accrued 100 percent of VA education benefits.
