Summer Information & Suggestions from the Counseling Center
The Counseling Center is closed for the summer months starting on May 31st. It will be open once you return on campus in August. If questions arise before the beginning of the semester the Director, Claudia Werner, will be available by phone or email starting July 14th at 865-981-8035 or counseling@maryvillecollege.edu. Below is a link of counseling options and resources over the summer months

Teletherapy through Uwill
Uwill gives enrolled students – residential and commuters – access to a 365/24/7 support line and mental telehealth care for free. Students are able to talk to licensed providers from their smartphone or any web-enabled device. Licensed providers are available for virtual therapy and offer mental health support via phone, chat, or secure video visits. Registering online is recommended as a first step so you can familiarize yourself with the system and process. Visit the portal to create your account, schedule an appointment with a counselor, or use their crisis number if you need to talk to someone sooner.
Be Intentional about Time to Rest
Reflect on what activities help you feel rested. Do you like being in nature? Do you enjoy curling up to read a book? Do you need to catch up on sleep or nap?

Do Something Active
Moving your body for at least 30 minutes a day can be good for both your physical and mental health. Try a new activity like yoga, a dance class, or walking at the park.
Spend Time with your Social Support
Be intentional about making plans with your friends and loved ones over break. Give someone a call. Plan something fun and invite someone to join you.
