Campus Life

We’re a close community that’s open to all

So many things, tangible and intangible alike, come together to make the Maryville College campus such a special place. First and foremost, it’s a culture of not just acceptance, but something even larger — of welcoming. Here, you’ll find a true residential campus where students live, work, and play together (and where lifelong bonds are formed), as well as more than 40 student clubs and organizations that introduce you to new people, new ideas and new opportunities to practice leadership and citizenship. On this campus, you will see the larger world and discover your place in it.

Whether the interest is academics, sports, faith, politics, art or culture, you’re sure to find your niche — and many new friends — in one (or two or three) of Maryville College’s clubs and organizations. And if you have an idea for a new group, there’s a process in place to do that.

If you like the outdoors, then you’ll love Mountain Challenge. This outdoor team building program offers Camp 4 through the academic year and day trips on the weekend to the surrounding mountains, lakes, rivers and woods. The seasons provide the agenda.

In addition to studying and playing on campus, you may choose to live here. The College has eight separate residence halls, some of which have a themed or living-learning community focused on subjects like wellness and community engagement. Our dining hall and café receive high marks because of the variety and quality of dishes and use of locally-sourced food.

We offer students a chance to participate in religious activities on campus, and invite them to become more thoughtful in their own faith tradition — whatever that may be. We explore deeply by asking questions of faith and meaning. We commit to really hearing the answers of others and let those answers inform our own truths. It’s part of how we do faith: to honor all people and all of creation.

As a residential college with a strong sense of community and much care for its members, Maryville College will provide you with a number of student services — everything from academic advising and support to counseling, fitness, health, information technology, financial aid and safety and security.
