Many new and returning students receive help with college costs through outside scholarships. These are scholarships that they have applied for and received from sources outside the college. The sources can be employers, religious institutions or denominations, nonprofit agencies, community organizations, private companies, foundations or military organizations. Amounts and criteria will vary according to the scholarship guidelines.
