Class of 1994
Margaret Elizabeth Bell passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at home in Denver, Colorado. Margaret was born in Maryville, Tennessee, the daughter of Jeffrey Arnold Hill and Ada Suzanne McCoskey Hill. She graduated from Farragut High School and Maryville College. Margaret married her best friend, The Rev. Dr. John Henry Bell, Jr. in 1983 after a whirlwind courtship.
Margaret dedicated her life and career to service. She engaged faith communities at the Pastoral Institute in Columbus, Georgia. Later, she worked for Metro-Denver Habitat for Humanity. She often supported young people in athletic, creative, and artistic endeavors. She was a member of and served as a Deacon at Wellshire Presbyterian Church and led mission trips to Haiti, Mexico, Israel, Jordan, and Nepal. In recent years, she volunteered as a home tutor for refugees and mentored high school students at East High School. At the time of her death, she was President of the Board of Haiti Partners and Program Coordinator and Retreat Leader for Casting for Recovery Colorado, which provides free, healing fly fishing retreats for women with breast cancer, a cause for which she was most passionate.
Margaret was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer in 2014 and faced her illness with tenacity, courage, and positivity. She was sustained through faith, family, friends, fly fishing, and the prayers of many. She would not be defined by her illness. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious. Margaret was gracious, kind-hearted, creative, joyful, and jovial. She loved to gather friends and strangers to celebrate, and she deemed any occasion worthy of a celebration. Her glass was always half full, if not overflowing.
She is survived by her mother, Ada Suzanne McCoskey Hill; husband of 38 years, The Rev. Dr. John Henry Bell, Jr.; their daughters, Megan Bell Schmoll (Joseph), and Katherine Elizabeth Bell; adored granddaughter, Elizabeth Schmoll; Matthew Griffith (Lauren); Larry Hill (Carol); and her constant companion English Labrador, Ruthie.

Andrea Roddy age 49, passed on to Heaven Friday January 19th, 2017. She was born to Bob and Judy Maxson on July 19th, 1968. Andrea is survived by her husband Mark, her daughter Katherine, and son Max. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Those who were blessed to know Andrea were graced with someone who was loving, caring and always a shoulder to lean on and to share their life struggles. She was a wonderful mother and devoted wife who dedicated herself to her family, her friends, and to making this world a better place. Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima. Kim Tisdale of Knoxville, went to the room that Jesus prepared for her on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014. Kim is a beloved child of God and disciple of Jesus. Kim’s devotion to God led her to give up her careers as a high school biology teacher and basketball coach nine years ago in order to raise her son Hunter and teach him in the ways he should go according to God’s word. Kim loved her family well and put God’s will for her life above all people and things. Kim is survived by her son, Hunter; husband, Michael; dad and mom, John and Linda Hunter; great-aunt, Joy Davidson; and grandmother, Cicelia Hunter, among others. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Fellowship Church, 8000 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37909. Workman, James F (J.F.) age, 73 of Knoxville passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Bonita Springs, FL. He was a loving father, brother and uncle. He was a United States Navy Veteran, he was a 50 year member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, and an avid golfer. He worked as a Purchasing Agent for the City of Knoxville, and the City of Naples. He was a TSSAA Football Referee for 20 years. Later in his life he went back to school to earn his degree from Maryville College. He was also a member of a Sea Turtle Rescue in Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank C. Workman and Minnie R. Workman, and niece Dana Henegar. He is survived by son Stephen Workman and wife Sandy and son Michael Workman; grandson Aaron Johnson, brothers Dale Workman and wife Linda and Lee Workman and wife Jan, nephews Brandon Workman and Jason Workman, and nieces Michelle Wilson and Rachel Brinkley. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at ROSE MORTUARY BROADWAY CHAPEL, immediately followed by a 2:00 pm funeral service officiated by Rev. Mike Segers. Family and friends will follow in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for an interment. Full military honors will be presented by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
