Todd graduated from Tennessee State University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He also passed the National Physical Therapy Examination to be licensed as a Physical Therapist.

were married on December 22, 2012. In May 2014, both Jessica and Brandon graduated with high honors from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Brandon received a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Jessica received a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). They now live in Charlottesville, VA where Brandon is completing his Internal Medicine Residency, and Jessica is working as an associate dentist.

Ascension Saint Thomas has announced Kristen Toth as Vice President of Oncology Services in addition to her current role as Vice President of Women’s and Children’s Services. Kristen’s responsibilities will now include the oversight of both Women’s and Oncology Services, including strategic planning, clinical processes, and program development. “Under Kristen’s leadership, our Women’s service line has seen remarkable success and I’m confident that our Oncology Service Line will continue its legacy of providing excellent care to our patients while enhancing our program and capabilities as well,” said Amber Sims, Chief Strategy Officer, Ascension Saint Thomas. “As Ascension Saint Thomas continues to expand our service offerings within the Women’s and Oncology spaces, we are fortunate to have Kristen’s proven leadership guiding both programs into exciting new territories for our patients and physicians.” Kristen joined Saint Thomas Health in January 2014 as the Executive Director of the Saint Thomas Health Alliance. Since February 2017, she has been the Vice President of Women’s Services. Prior to her tenure at Ascension Saint Thomas, Kristen spent 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in Women’s and Pediatric Health. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Maryville College and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Tennessee.

In 2016 I published a book titled “Mount Horeb Church Minute Books, 1841-1923, An Anthology of Church and Family History (Jefferson County, TN)” at the Southern Historical Press in Greenville, SC. It includes Rankin, Alexander, Bradshaw, Coile and many early settlers of Dumplin Valley who lived in East Tennessee. Many Maryville College students have a connection with these early pioneers.

Barbara and four classmates from the class of 1959 gathered in Kansas City for lunch on April 29. Her husband, Joe, Barb Mueller, Joann Wyman and Barabara had a good time reminiscing about our college years. Joe and Barbara plan to return for the class 60th reunion in October and to celebrate the college’s 200th year.

Barbara “Davis” Tropansky ’59 and I celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary on August 20, 2020. Not being able to travel because of the virus, we celebrated by going out to dinner in a nice restaurant.

Ken Tuck received the Service Above Self Award from Rotary International in May 2017. The award is Rotary’s highest honor recognizing up to 150 Rotarians each year who demonstrate their commitment to helping others by volunteering their time and talents.

is principal at Foothills Elementary School which was recently named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan in September 2014. This was based on its overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The school is the first Maryville school to receive the award in a decade and the first Blount County school to receive it in four years.

The Grassroots Leadership team in Austin, Texas welcomes Lauren Voyles. She was placed at Grassroots Leadership through the Young Adult Volunteer program, a ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA). The program allows young people to serve domestically or internationally at sites where we are able to positively impact those who live around us, as well as enables us to be good stewards of our society and our world. She is heavily involved in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is considering a seminary education following her YAV year. She feels most called to a chaplaincy of some kind.

Melissa Walker ’85 continues to build Heyday Coaching, LLC, her coaching and consulting practice. In addition to work with individual clients, she recently developed a staff development workshop series called “Building a Vital Life” for the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine–Carolinas Campus and facilitated a short-range interpretive planning process for the Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution Group of the National Park Service. She keeps her hand in the world of the historian presenting talks including recent ones for the Greenville Chautauqua and Cowpens National Battlefield. signed a multi-book contract with HarperCollins, UK office for an adult fantasy series. The first book titled, Among Wolves, will be released in May 2015. Her second series of Readers’ Theater books, A Year of Holiday Scripts for Schools and Libraries will be released September 1, 2015. She currently has a total of 13 published children’s books including The Christmas Cats and Abby and the Book Bunch.

2019-20 Women’s basketball season was first year at the helm. Set school record for wins and winning percentage in a season. 26-7 ( .788) Also had the first 1st Team All American in school history Was told I am the first women’s coach at the collegiate level to bring a team to at least the round of 32 of a National Tournament at the NJCAA, NCAA II, NCAA III and NAIA levels

The Alcoa City Schools system has named Mary Beth Hunt Warwick ’93 as director of special education and coordinator for the prekindergarten program and accommodations for students with disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. She began working with students with disabilities at Alcoa Middle School in 2004, and she has been a resource teacher and team leader.
