He was 74. Greg was born Jan. 25, 1945 in Darby, Pennsylvania and graduated from Roxborough High School in Philadelphia in 1963. After earning a biology degree from Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee, where Greg was a competitive javelin thrower on the track team, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Greg served as an officer at F.E. He was a passionate fly-angler and diligent fly-casting instructor at Game and Fish workshops. “Greg was always willing to help make my job easier,” says Al Langston, Game and Fish supervisor/co-worker and good friend. “Whether it was providing coverage of Game and Fish projects or assisting with Cheyenne Fishing Day, he could be counted on. He was very skilled with a fly rod and instructed many students both privately and at public activities.” Greg was an expert knife sharpener and aficionado of custom knives. He was also a patron of the Crown Bar where many friends enjoyed his insights and conversation. Before joining the Game and Fish, Greg studied at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California and the Sun Valley Center of the Arts and Humanities in Idaho. “The instructional videos and video news stories Greg produced were always of the highest quality,” Langston adds. passed away on July 28th, 2013. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Hamersley (Spouse Willkie Cirker) and her son Mark Hamersley (spouse Heike) along with 3 grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild. Janet was born in Barberton, Ohio, in 1922 and was a chemistry major at MC who adored Dr. Griffitts, but never worked in any area of her degree even though, when younger, she had hoped to go to medical school. She got a teaching certificate from Ohio State, then a Special Education degree from West Virginia and taught virtually all subjects in all grades for thirty years. Her husband was a civilian employee of the U. S. military; they lived in Germany for nearly twenty years and, after returning to the United States, wished very much that she knew someone with whom she could converse in German. After her death, her daughter invited the other co-chair of the library committee, along with me, to help ourselves to any of her books we would like to have. Of course we selected a few–but at least 90% of them were written in German! Her daughter was quite pleased that I had called and said that her mother had shared good memories of her time at Maryville.
