Arielle von Boettinger Kilday ’05 has been promoted to director of graduate admissions, dual enrollment and data management, while Kelly Massenzo has been promoted to director of undergraduate admissions and events. They both began their new roles on January 1.

Previously, Kilday was the director of admissions. She joined the College’s staff in 2009 as an admissions counselor and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from MC and a master’s degree in college student personnel from University of Tennessee.

In her new role, Kilday will work to recruit students to Maryville College’s graduate program and dual enrollment opportunities. With the recent launch of the College’s first master’s degree program in its modern history, Kilday will dedicate much of her time to helping recent college graduates and career changers enroll in the master of arts in teaching program for secondary STEM. She also will oversee all admissions data processing and reporting.

“As we continue to increase the admissions graduate school offerings and expand our dual-enrollment recruitment outreach, having a knowledgeable and experienced director of graduate admissions, dual enrollment and data management in place is vital to our future success,” said Alayne Bowman, vice president for admissions and financial aid. “Because Arielle is an MC graduate it is not surprising that she combines ethical commitment with a passion for excellence. Her historical knowledge of the College as well as the admissions process makes her the ideal candidate for this position. I look forward to working with her in this new role and have full confidence that she will continue to push Maryville College towards continued and increased success.”

Massenzo joined the College in 2015 as an admissions counselor and holds a bachelor’s of science in communication, public relations from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Lincoln Memorial University.

In her new role, Massenzo will manage, evaluate, and refine Undergraduate Admissions operational processes and procedures. Her position also has supervisory responsibilities for first-year and transfer counselors including onboarding, recruitment strategies and goal setting as counselors work with prospective students and families concerning admission and enrollment at Maryville College. Massenzo will direct the planning, organization and staffing of all recruitment/yield events (on and off campus) for the Admissions Office, including open houses, overnight programs, weekend events, admitted student visit days, scholarship weekends, the College-sponsored college fair, and all other events.

“Kelly has been influential in developing a team of colleagues who are some of the finest I’ve worked with in my 18 years in the profession,” said Bowman. “This advancement reflects the changing and significant role she plays in the admission and enrollment of undergraduate students. Her promotion is a more formal announcement of the areas she currently supervises: daily operations, admissions events, and the scholarship committees. Kelly’s contributions to our admission’s team over the past few years have made this promotion an expected development for an outstanding employee.”
