Maryville College senior Ryne Simmerly ’24 will present a recital titled “Disney Around the World” at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Clayton Center for the Arts.

The recital, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Clayton Center’s Harold and Jean Lambert Recital Hall.

The program will include selections by Alan Menken, Randy Newman and other composers whose works have become synonymous with Disney films and television shows.

The recital will also include Elaina Wilson ’24 as a guest performer. Chase Hatmaker ’14 will serve as the collaborative pianist.

“I wanted to create a recital that brought a little bit of home to Howee,” Simmerly said. “The entire recital features Disney classics sung in the language from the country that the movie is based in.”

Simmerly, a Vocal Music Education major with teaching licensure from Winter Garden, Florida, is a 2020 graduate of Windermere High School.
