Inclement Weather Alert

College operating on two-hour delay Tuesday, Feb. 3

With road conditions improving and temperatures rising above freezing, Maryville College will return to in-person classes and work on Tuesday, Feb. 3, but with a two-hour delayed start and compressed class schedule.

For students and faculty, the two-hour compressed schedule for Tuesday classes is:

REGULAR CLASS PERIODS

  • 8 a.m. classes will run from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • 9:30 a.m. classes will run from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
  • 11 a.m. classes will run from 1:50 to 2:50 p.m.
  • For the special case of noon-hour classes, this block may use the 12:30-1 p.m. window.

LABS, APPLIED ART, AND BLOCK CLASSES

  • Labs, applied art, and block classes from 8 to 10:50 a.m. will meet from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., as indicated in the School Closing Procedures
  • Labs, applied art, and block classes from 2 to 5 p.m. will meet from 3 to 5:15 p.m., as indicated in the School Closing Procedures

FOURTH DAYS, OTHER TR

  • 8 a.m. classes will run from 10 to 10:40 a.m.
  • 9 a.m. classes will run from 10:50 to 11:40 a.m.
  • 10 a.m. classes will run from 11:50 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING CLASES

  • Late afternoon and evening classes (all classes starting after 4 p.m.), will not operate on a delay, but will run at their usual times.

Members of the campus community should refer to the email sent Monday, Feb. 2, by Dr. Liz Perry-Sizemore, vice president and Dean of the College, for more details, and watch their email for further updates.

Maryville College is a residential campus, so certain student services will not close or cease operations due to weather. As for athletic games, performances, lectures and other public events, individuals are encouraged to watch the Maryville College website and official social media channels for updates, or to call for more information.

Both student and staff commuters are advised to use their best judgment when it comes to driving and walking in inclement weather.
