Here’s Your Roadmap in 6 Easy Steps to Financial Aid
01 :: Apply for Admission
Complete the application and submit with all required credentials for admission to Maryville College.
02 :: Receive a Scholarship
After you’ve been admitted, you may be awarded a Maryville College scholarship. If you qualify, you’ll hear from us. Scholarship and merit awards based on ACT/SATs and high school GPA will automatically be awarded. Your merit award letter will be included in your acceptance packet.
This is only a “starting point,” meaning that the total award will probably increase based on completing Steps #3 and #4 of this checklist.
03 :: Don’t Forget your FAFSA
First, apply for your PINs online at ed.gov. Then remember to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), online after October 1st.
04 :: Compete For Our MC Fellowships
These fellowships are based on competitive auditions and/or interviews for those who qualify. Applications are due by January 15 or February 1, and fellowship competitions will take place during February on the Maryville College campus.
05 :: Watch For Your Financial Aid Package
Based on the results of your FAFSA (see Step #3) or your academic achievement, the college Financial Aid Office will consider eligibility for federal and state aid. Federal and state aid includes:
- Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship
- Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA)
- Federal PELL Grant
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- Federal Direct Loan
- Federal College Work Study
- Maryville College need-based grants
Distribution of financial aid packages begins in December, and your admissions counselor will contact you shortly after the package is received to explain the components to students and families.
06 :: Consider Additional Financial Aid Options
No matter the awards, you always have options at Maryville College. For example, the Federal Parent PLUS Loan program is available to help fund a Maryville education. Additionally, Maryville College can help you set up a Tuition Payment Plan, which offers you the opportunity to pay any remaining balance in affordable interest-free installments.
