In September of 2022, after a year-long search process, Maryville College selected a new platform for our Student Information System (SIS). The new student portal, the Highlander Hub, is where students will register for classes, check grades, monitor degree plans, sign up for housing, and more. In addition to a host of new features not possible with current systems, the Highlander Hub will also bring a number of improvements to our current processes:
- Centralized student records and communications
- Modern, mobile-friendly student and parent portal
- Improved course and grade viewing
- Fully integrated academic advising
What family members need to know:
- Beginning Fall 2024, students are being informed of the change.
- The old Self-Service system will go off line October 11.
- The new Highlander Hub will launch in mid-November.
- Students will receive information regarding how to pay Spring 25 bills by email around mid-November.
- The Highlander Hub will only be available to students during the Fall ’24 and the better part of Spring ’25 semesters.
For family members who have previously logged into Self-Service to pay bills
For Spring 2025 bills, you will have to work with your student to pay the bill through their account. What does that mean?
- A family member may have to sit down with the student and enter the credit card or bank info on the student’s device
- A family member may give the student that card or banking info over the phone while the student enters the information into his/her acount
- A family member may transfer the money to a student’s bank account so the student can pay
- Families can send a check or money-order to the student or directly to the business office
- Personal checks can be mailed to the address below. A $35 NSF (non-sufficient fund) fee will be added to all returned checks. We cannot accept post dated checks. To ensure proper credit is applied to the student account, please include the student’s full, legal name on the check along with the student ID number.

Because the parent/family are of the Highlander Hub has not been built out yet, you will have to rely on getting this information directly from your student. In the Spring of 2025, students will be able to invite family members to see the data that they want to share according to the rules of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
If you have questions about this kind of information, please refer to the Registrar section of the website.
