MC SCOTS INTERNSHIP ABROAD PROGRAMS

Gain valuable experience and become more culturally aware by completing an international internship. There are many internship programs that specialize in placing students in a company or organization that best matches major, career interests, experience and skillsets. Many internships can be taken for credit.

The Center for Global Engagement advises students on education abroad opportunities, including international internships and internships. Learn how you can earn practical experience abroad by consulting with an Education Abroad advisor and the Career Center.

Eligibility:

  • Prior to any international travel, students are required to seek approval from the Center for Global Engagement for credit and non-credit international internships. Maryville College students have the opportunity to do any internship abroad of their choice during the summer. However, the International Programming Committee has also taken the time to pre-approve some specific programs and partners. These summer internship abroad opportunities are linked below.
  • Students participating in international internships should have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be in good conduct standing for MC approval.
  • GPA requirements for specific internship courses are often higher than 2.5 and therefore will supersede the Center for Global Engagement’s minimum requirements.

Participants are required to register with the Center for Global Engagement by submitting an application, completing pre-departure instruction (OVS 203) the semester prior to departure and enrolling in MC international health insurance. Students should contact the CGE prior to Feb. 15 for international internships taking place the following summer.

Students applying to participate in an independent internship must abide by MC application deadlines and non-affiliated programs policies set forth by the Center for Global Engagement s and submit unreviewed internship placements in advance of the posted deadlines for approval.

MC Study Abroad Scholarships are only available for approved programs.

Each program has a different application process and form available on the partner website. Generally an initial online application will be required, and at some point you need to be prepared to submit a resume and take part in an interview.
