Triplett named MC’s Director of Alumni Affairs

Jennifer Phillips Triplett ’07 has been named director of alumni affairs at Maryville College. She began her new role in the Advancement Office on April 1.
A member of the executive board of the Maryville College Alumni Association (MCAA), the MCAA Nashville Chapter and chair of the College’s KT Global Taskforce, Triplett brings to the position knowledge and experience gained as a liaison to the Advancement Office and as an associate with Stones River Group in Nashville, where she worked from 2015 until March of 2022.
At Stones River Group, she worked with a variety of nonprofit and corporate clients on a wide range of assignments, including event planning and management, community engagement, strategic planning, fundraising, content development and other communications-related projects. During this time, she also earned meeting and event planning certification through Belmont University’s Center for Executive Education.
As director of alumni affairs at the College, Triplett will work closely with graduates and former students to develop and manage meaningful events such as Homecoming, Commencement, KT Days, KT Global and chapter-related activities; assist with alumni communications; fundraise; and connect alumni with the College’s faculty, staff and students.
“We are delighted to welcome one of our own as director of alumni affairs,” said Suzy Booker, vice president for Institutional Advancement. “Jennifer brings with her outstanding volunteer management and event planning experience.
“She has been an incredibly active and insightful volunteer for the Maryville College Alumni Association and has worked tirelessly with other members of that group to launch the KT Global Initiative, which encourages alumni to do service projects with fellow alumni in their respective communities,” Booker continued. “In 2021, we had almost 250 alumni from across the country participate in KT Global, collectively volunteering 1050 hours of service, and we just wrapped up a successful 2022 event last weekend.”
Triplett, who majored in international business at the College, worked as a national development coordinator (AmeriCorps VISTA position) for Ashoka’s Youth Venture and as a marketing specialist for Radio Systems Corporation following graduation. She said her previous experience in product and brand management sharpened her attention to detail and skills for communicating to diverse internal and external audiences, which she said will help “lay the groundwork for success as part of the advancement team.”
“I am thrilled to be joining the team and coming back to Maryville College. It has truly been a dream to return to MC ever since I graduated in 2007,” she said. “Our Maryville experience encourages us to find our vocation and calling, and mine really is to come ‘Home to Howee.’ I am so excited for the opportunity to serve the College in this capacity, and I look forward to connecting fellow alumni with each other and with MC.”
Jennifer is married to Aaron Triplett ’07, and they have two children: Theodore (“Teddy”) and Louise.
