Join fellow alumni on the MC campus in June

A beloved annual event, KT Days brings alumni and friends of the College back to campus each summer to share sweat equity in the spirit of Kin Takahashi. During the work days, KT’ers can experience living in the dorms once again, eating in Pearsons Dining Hall, and connecting with each other “after hours” in fellowship and fun.
Volunteers complete service projects resulting in valuable improvements to the surroundings and facilities of our historic campus. Projects include but are not limited to landscaping, College Woods maintenance, light carpentry, painting, and archival support, among others. We are excited to include as part of KT Days service a new event, KT 101, inviting alumni to help prepare for the KT Days workdays, and the 2nd annual Alumni Brew Day!
KT 101 is a new opportunity for alumni to join the KT tradition and participate on Saturday, June 6. Come learn a new skill, meet alumni from all generations, and be part of the KT legacy. This event is open to returning KT’ers and those unable to join during the week. Use the KT Days button below to register.
Alumni Brew Day invites former brewing students and any alum interested in learning about brewing in the Fermentation Sciences lab at the MC Downtown Center. No experience is required to join Alumni Brew Day and be dubbed a KT Kegger. Use the Alumni Brew Day button below to register.
Registration Information
Learn more about the plans for KT Days 2026 in the letter below from the KT Days “Volunteer in Chief,” Reggie Dailey, former MC Physical Plant director, and please take a moment to review the FAQ and draft schedule below to answer any questions. We look forward to welcoming returning and new KT’ers to campus!
Registration will close on Friday, May 22. Register now to guarantee housing availability and claim your KT Days t-shirt.
Dear KT’ers,
KT Days 2026 is set for June 9, 10, and 11. This will be our 28th gathering and KT Days projects remain as important parts of the overall maintenance of the College’s assets. The time and talents given as part of KT Days remain as valued as ever.
We are working with the College’s Facilities Department and Archives to develop a list of meaningful projects for KT Days 2026. The light construction projects will include working on the Crawford House barn, constructing a screening fence near the football field, and a number of smaller scale projects.
The painting projects will likely include staining the screening fence at the grounds materials pad, refreshing the paint on the various irrigation pump houses near athletic facilities, refreshing the walls of the Clayton Center for the Arts technical hallway, and several smaller scale projects. The cleaning projects will likely include cleaning the numerous light poles on campus and a number of pressure-washing projects.
The landscaping projects will include the usual weeding, trimming, and planting, etc. We will also plan on installing pavers under the solar tables in the center of campus and constructing a couple of walkways. We will, again, have College Woods projects such as invasive species eradications, trail maintenance, plantings, etc.
We will have a more normal set of Archives projects, now that the work in the Archives area is complete. We will welcome everyone to see the renovations completed in the Archives on Monday evening.
As mentioned before, KT Days 2026 will take place on June 9, 10, and 11. We are glad to continue our new traditions of Monday night dutch-treat dinner at Pearsons followed by an ice cream social and lunch with the Maryville College campus community on Tuesday. For those who are interested, the new tradition of an alumni brew day will continue and is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at the Downtown Center. Also on Saturday, we welcome your help and the encouragement of folks new to the KT tradition at KT 101.
I look forward to seeing all experienced KT friends and hopefully many new KT friends this summer. I believe it will be, as always, an enjoyable, meaningful, and rewarding time.
Go Scots,

Reggie Dailey
What are this year’s work days?
-
- Saturday, June 6 (KT 101 & Alumni Brew Day)
- Tuesday, June 9
- Wednesday, June 10
- Thursday, June 11
As always, you can work one day, two days, or all three days.
Is there a cost to participate in KT Days?
No! KT Days invites alumni and friends of the College back to campus to stay in the dorms and eat in the cafeteria (in addition to special event meals). KT’ers must only provide their own transportation to and from campus. We are pleased to host you as thanks for the hard work done during the work days.
Can I stay on campus?
Yes! We welcome KT’ers to have the full experience of campus life once again during the workdays. Complimentary housing will be in Lloyd Hall this year. The suite-style dorm is equipped with an elevator and handicap accessible rooms as needed. Each suite houses 4 individuals and has two full bathrooms. Suites hold two double-occupancy rooms or one double-occupancy and two single rooms. Some suites include a kitchen and each floor has a community kitchen and lobby. Couples will be housed together. We will do our best to honor suite and roommate requests. We will be sharing Lloyd Hall with students staying on campus over the summer.
When is check-in and check-out?
Dorm check-in is Monday, June 8th from 1 – 3 pm ET in the Lloyd Hall First-Floor Lobby. Registration packets will be available for all KT’ers at this time, including those checking into the dorm and those not staying on campus.
Alternate dorm check-in times based on your travel schedule can be arranged after you complete registration. Registration packet pick up for all KT’ers will also be available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at breakfast in the Proffitt Dining Room (PDR) of Pearsons Hall.
Dorm check-out is Friday, June 12 from 9 – 11 am ET. Alternate check-out times based on your travel schedule can be arranged after you complete registration.
Can I stay at a hotel?
Yes. Maryville College has preferred rates available for alumni use with several local hotels. Visit our Locals Guide page to learn more about each hotel and how to make a reservation. Complimentary meals can be enjoyed on campus, but KT’ers not staying on campus are responsible for providing their own transportation each day.
If I don’t stay on campus, when do I get my packet and t-shirt?
For local volunteers, or those choosing not to stay on campus, registration packets will be available during the dorm check-in time of Monday, June 9th from 1 – 3 pm ET in the Lloyd Hall lobby and at breakfast on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings in the Proffitt Dining Room (PDR) of Pearsons Hall. Those participating in KT 101 will receive their packets on Saturday, June 6.
What are the projects for KT Days 2025?
The KT Days project list is developed by the KT Days director and team, in partnership with the MC Facilities Operations team, and is based on campus needs, feasibility, costs, and skill level required. Generally, projects include landscaping, painting, light carpentry, College Woods maintenance, and archival organization. You will be asked your project preferences on the registration form and assigned to a project team as determined by the KT Days director.
Team assignments for the week will be announced at breakfast on Tuesday morning. In some special cases, the KT Days director will contact individuals in advance. Each project has a team leader. If you feel you are not a good fit for your assigned project, please discuss with your team leader.
What else do I need to know?
We are excited to bring alumni back to campus for KT Days! Please review the registration form and complete if you will join us. Additional information about what to bring, daily schedules, and special events during KT Days are available online here and will provided to registered attendees. Registration closes on Friday, May 22.
Below is a sample of the KT Days 2026 schedule. Flexibility is key, and some of the scheduled times and projects are subject to change. While the weather is unpredictable, we know it will likely be hot! Don’t forget your portable water bottle to stay hydrated during the work days.

Other ways to get involved
KT Global
Whether or not you come back to campus for KT Days 2026 in June, we hope you will participate in MC’s sixth annual worldwide service event, KT Global. Inspired by the legacy created by KT’ers, KT Global invites all alumni to participate in service events no matter where they live during the month of April. Find an existing project to join or plan your own – learn more about how you can join in on our KT Global page!
KT Weekend
Inspired by our alumni KT’ers, students have created their own KT service event to provide improvements on campus. KT Weekend takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, and invites all students, alumni, faculty, and staff to spend a morning on projects in and around the College Woods. Planning is led by the Center for Community Engagement with project guidance by our own Reggie Dailey. Registration closes on March 26 – learn more and sign up with ScotsEngage.
KT Endowment
The KT Endowment ensures financial support for KT Days exists in perpetuity. In addition to your service, the College is always grateful for gifts to the KT Endowment. Please consider making a donation to keep this fund healthy and growing. On the donation page, select “Kin Takahashi Endowment” in the “I want to support” dropdown. To make a gift to support this year’s KT Days event operations, select “Kin Takahashi Projects” in the “I want to support” dropdown.
